I believe every good business should have a mascot. It is sort of like a sports team. Well, my mascot is Vern, my Golden Retriever. His full name is Vernon Aspen. He was born in October 2004 and is the best friend ever. I will post pictures and stories of our adventures here!

Vern has become quite the fan of geocaching. Actually, he is probably a fan of me being a fan of geocaching, since that means he gets to go out and play. There are times when I wish I had his four legs for getting up and down some of the hills! Golden Retriever hair is designed to pick up as many cockleburs as possible. A great design for the movement of the seeds of the plants, but a horrible design if you are the dog owner that has to remove them! Washing doesn’t work. They must be brushed out or cut out with scissors. I call it “bonding time” after the adventure.

We have had some early snow here this fall. The last week was snowy days and cold nights. Vern’s humans didn’t think that was too fun. He, however, LOVED the snow. I guess if I had a coat of fur that was made to keep me warm and dry I would like it too. It is great fun to watch your dog frolic like a puppy in the snow on his 6th birthday.
